Mamojà

Mamojà is a cultural association, created in 2015 and which currently encompasses about seventy members. Mamoiada, in the province of Nuoro, is an area historically suited for the production of wine, specifically Cannonau. The wine here has a particular value, from a social, cultural and religious point of view. It belongs to the tradition of this land and is also a way to live in harmony with the environment, create jobs, engage the local economy, fight the depopulation that afflicts inland areas and the entire Sardinian island. The winemakers of Mamoiada are encouraged to use organic farming, thanks to an uncontaminated territory characterized by significant temperature variations, which allow the grapes to be preserved in the best possible way. The association promotes and protects the work of the winemakers, respecting the typicality and identity of the territory: the wines are mostly "Ghirada" wines, which in the local dialect means single vineyard.
