Tasting Notes

Intense bright ruby red. The bouquet offers all the floral aromas of the best Sangiovese wines followed by light spicy and fruity notes. After a few moments these are joined by gentle mineral and toasted aromas. An olfactive profile of great elegance which returns in the mouth where a well-defined tannin balances a certain suppleness and a decisive crispiness. Extremely fine and expressive, closing with a very persistent finish.

Pairing

Excellent throughout the meal, “Rancia” di Félsina is a red wine that pairs well with pastas containing ragout, also when made of wild boar.

The Rancia vineyard takes its name from the ancient farm that stands where there was once a Benedictine monastery. This lot of land is located at the topmost and most noble part of the municipal area of Castelnuovo Berardenga, the southernmost border of the Chianti Classico appellation. It is here that this great Tuscan cru is produced, a wine that needs no introduction such is its fame.
