Mascarello Giuseppe & Figlio

The Mascarello family has been into wine growing for over a century and a half. Initially they were running a farmhouse belonging to the Marquise Giulia Colbert Faletti di Barolo, and starting from the end of the 19th century they had their own company in Pian della Polvere. Today, the winery can count on a 13 hectare vineyard. The respect for the nature, the biodiversity, and the ecosystem is utmost, and leans towards a biological approach. Chemicals are extremely limited, and fertilization is exclusively organic. In the vineyard, every agronomic choice is careful and shrewd, aimed at keeping every single plant in perfect balance. Not only the flagship grape Nebbiolo, but also the other autochthonous varieties like freisa, dolcetto and barbera, that are the most typical varieties of the Piedmontese Langhe. Precious and pure bunches are interpreted, once in the cellar, with respect for traditions and classicism. A meticulous artisanal care is applied to each production process, without however ever renouncing cutting-edge oenological technologies. This way some of the most renowned and prestigious crus of Barolo come to express themselves in rigorous, refined labels with an unmistakable style. "Mascarello Giuseppe & Figlio" wines are now famous all over the world, thanks to a great personality, and a refined and strongly territory driven soul.
