Tasting Notes

Slightly dull ruby red, with highly evolved and charming scents, typical of the finest Etna Rosso. Notes of spices, tobacco, pepper and sandalwood join a fruity and floral trace. A balsamic touch then opens to a full and rewarding palate, fine and extended, characterised by a certain austerity and a tight and elegant tannic structure. Great, impeccably clean closure.

Pairing

Served with all courses of a meal, "Musmeci" is ideal with rich meat dishes, including roasts. Ideal at the end of a meal, accompanying great mature cheeses.

Etna Rosso DOC “Musmeci” 2011 - Tenuta di Fessina: Why we like it

The most representative wine of Tenuta di Fessina, "Musmeci" is made with Nerello Mascalese grapes grown in a vineyard located at an altitude of almost 700 metres above sea level, on the northern slope of the volcano, from vines that are almost one hundred years old. It is a sumptuous and elegant expression, one of the finest Etna Rosso in circulation, which ages in large oak barrels. A very fine red, characterised by longevity, austere yet very fresh. A wine which aims to draw the best from this land, with the rigour and respect that Etna demands.
