Tasting Notes

Ruby red. Cherries and pomegranates open up the bouquet, which then develops along fresh and mineral herbaceous nuances. Smooth on the palate, fresh like the bouquet, with a medium body, characterised by a good tannic structure and an equally good persistence.

Pairing

Perfect for accompanying delicious meat, vegetable and cheese dishes, particularly good with roast pork.

Etna Rosso DOC 2018 - Planeta: Why we like it

This Etna Rosso DOC, from the Planeta winery, comes from the heart of the great Sicilian volcano. Temperature-controlled fermentation lasts 12 days, and the wine spends 18 days on skins. Part ages in steel and part in wood, for about seven months. It represents a wonderful expression of a noble and antique grape variety, like Nerello Mascalese, which, on the foothills of Etna, shows that it is capable of giving fabulous wines, as in this case. Excellent.
